Voices of Unity traveling to New York City to perform in Carnegie Hall

The Voices of Unity Youth Choir will be representing Fort Wayne at the Choirs of America Nationals being held June 19-22 at the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York City. We will be leaving at midnight Tuesday night and we will be returning to Fort Wayne on Monday, June 23.

The performances will include a multitude of talented national youth choirs, including performances in three different languages! While at the Choirs of America Nationals, we will also be participating in performance reviews and workshops that are provided to the participating choirs. We have been preparing for this trip through purposeful rehearsals as well as learning the unique history of Carnegie Hall and New York City to be able to get the most out of this cultural experience!

Our spotlight moment on the stage of Carnegie Hall will be when we perform our arrangement of What A Wonderful World as arranged by our Director, Marshall White. We’ll also be performing at the Harlem Children’s Zone, in Harlem, New York that will be under the leadership of Geoffrey Canada, who has been featured on 60 Minutes last year as well as in the documentary film entitled Waiting For Superman.

The amazing opportunities to travel and perform at these culturally diverse destinations allows the youth in our community to expand their horizons and dream bigger. The New York City experience contributes to our mission to unite and empower our members with artistic excellence. This allows every person the opportunity to grow and develop their natural creative abilities as they follow and fulfill their dreams.

Follow along our trip from start to finish!
