With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting everyday life, we thank you for your past support and wish you and your family health and peace. Right now, Unity Performing Arts Foundation faces new challenges as well.
On May 5th, 2020 UNITY is joining a national day of generosity, #GivingTuesdayNow. It’s a day when you can positively impact GOOD and help us respond to the unprecedented needs of the organization caused by the coronavirus. As we adapt to these unprecedented circumstances, we’ll continue to serve our community by offering substance-based programming to our youth as best we can.
In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic that is sweeping across the nation demanding social distancing measures to mitigate the impact of the disease, UNITY has launched an innovative Virtual Learning Program (VLP) for all of our members. The VLP includes distance learning and virtual classrooms designed to educate, engage, empower, and equip our members through the use of technology and ensure the short and long-term sustainability of the organization and its mission. The VLP includes virtual artistic classes via ZOOM Meetings and an online platform or Virtual Training Center (VTC) consisting of online courses and training that can be accessed 24 hours a day covering a range of character, artistic and leadership topics. Students and parents actively engage with instructors, mentors, and peers through technology and social media including email, video-conferencing, social-media posts, and live events. These changes allow us to take our substance-based, CHARACTER, ARTISTRY and LEADERSHIP MODEL to a Virtual platform. We look forward to resuming original programming once it’s safe to do so.
