Calvin Barnett grew up in Flint Michigan (during the school year) and Memphis TN (when school was out) working on grandparent’s farm. After graduating from high school, Calvin joined the United States Army where he traveled to many places ,gained the skills of a truck driver (Class A CDL) and a certified cook with an (Associates in Food Management service). After the service he got an associate’s degree in Corrections Management and worked in the Michigan Correctional System for many years and in various positions he also work for the Federal government in several positions. Calvin has several Information Technology certifications and has worked in the IT/Business consulting field for over 30 years, owning and co owning several businesses. He is a current student at Ivy Tech, with plans of transferring to Indiana Tech to finish his Bachelorette in Business Administration- Management Information Systems. One of Calvin’s favorite quote is “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.”—Langston Hughes. Calvin is inspired by UNITY’s mission and vision and is looking forward to contributing anyway that he can.
