Tim Grant is currently the Student Outreach Director Of Unity Performing Arts Foundation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tim is a proud graduate of Grace College and Seminary, where he received a BA in Exercise Science and Information Technology.
Upon graduation, Tim wanted to educated himself more about young adolescents and began working with “at risk” youth from the Bowen Center Inpatient Unit. After a year of working in the area of youth development and counseling, he moved back home to Fort Wayne to coach football and track. As an accomplished athlete, Tim played 9 years of semi- pro football with a national championship title in 2008. Finding that his passion was to help grow and cultivate youth he began exploring the non-profit world.
As a young adolescent, Tim found a love for the music and arts, and became a member of the Youth For Christ Community Choir. Continuing that love into adulthood, Tim later came to be a member of The Voices Of Unity Youth Choir under Unity Performing Arts (UPAF). Upon discovering UPAF, he immediately began to immerse himself into becoming more informed about the organization and cultivating strong positive relationships with the staff and mentors. He realized that his passion for working with youth would be valued immensely. He is ingrained in the inner city and perceives his life experiences as a way to improve the way that the African American culture is observed in the community.
Persistent in his work with youth, Tim has become a voice for young athletes of the south side area of Fort Wayne. He continues to coach semi–pro football and is a personal trainer for clients who are preparing for the next level in their athletic careers.
My goal is to start changing the perception of our culture one day, one child and one life at a time this is what it will take to change our country and the world we live in. – Tim Grant
