Willie Lee Robinson Jr., was born on January 30, 1988 in Gary, Indiana. He grew up with his younger brother, two older sisters, and mother. At the age of thirteen, Willie began learning to play the bass, eventually playing at church where he got my earliest experience. As he began to develop more skills, his mother bought his first bass. He started to develop a passion for the bass, playing with local artists and choirs. During Willie’s junior year in high school, he attended a summer program at IU called “Camp Soul’, a summer music program directed by Tyron Cooper, who later became Willie’s mentor and trained him to be a professional musician. After moving to Bloomington, Indiana in 2006, Willie was able to widen his musical network tremendously and has been blessed to perform with major artists nationally and internationally, sharing his gift with the world.
